* Go to the library.<\/strong> Whenever I\u2019m in a slump, a trip to the library never fails to get me unstuck. Every shelf is loaded with possibility.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Interview self-bossers.<\/strong> Choose the joyfully jobless, not just the self-employed. Let their passion rub off on you.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Pay attention.<\/strong> Listen to the compliments that come your way. They may hold the key to a profit center. Listen to what people say is missing in the world for more clues.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0Play every day.<\/strong> Even if you aren\u2019t yet running a business full-time, do something\u2014no matter how small\u2014to move yourself ahead each and every day.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0* Break your goals into 90-Day Projects. \u00a0<\/strong>Doing so will keep you focused and keep you from feeling overwhelmed. It’s a momentum builder.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Give your projects a theme.<\/strong> A theme helps you focus your mind and sparks creative thoughts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0* Pick an entrepreneurial hero or heroine and become an expert on their life.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Carry a notebook.<\/strong> You never know when a great idea will strike or when you\u2019ll see something worth remembering. Richard Branson carries one all the time. So should you.<\/p>\n

* Read a novel.<\/strong> Not just any old story, however. Read novels that feature entrepreneurs as main characters. Mysteries, especially, feature them. You\u2019ll learn a lot.<\/p>\n

* Have regular tune-ups.<\/strong> One seminar does not finish the learning process. Keep going back to the well.<\/p>\n

* Immerse, don\u2019t dabble.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Acquire good tools. <\/strong>Use the best tools you can afford to do the best work you are capable of.<\/p>\n

\u00a0* Create an inspiring working environment.<\/strong> Your office or studio should be a place that rises up to meet you.<\/p>\n

* Subscribe to Winning Ways<\/a>.<\/strong> Read what successful entrepreneurs read. Build a library.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0* Memorize these five steps:<\/strong> HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN LUCK 1. Get a hobby<\/strong> Find the thing that fascinates you most. You\u2019ll recognize it instantly. It\u2019s the thing you feel you have to do every day or the day is wasted. 2. Obsess<\/strong> Get to know it so well nothing about it is unpredictable, including its ability to surprise you. This part of the process will take approximately one lifetime. 3. Charge for it<\/strong> If you\u2019re so crazy about it and so good at it, go pro! 4. Flourish<\/strong> If you\u2019ve followed steps one, two and three, this is the easy part. 5.
