Here's a hint on figuring out your life's purpose.
It almost never lies behind the door marked,
"Just be normal."
~ Mike Dooley

Postcard from Barbara
I'm spending the month of June (and perhaps the entire summer) really focusing on Making It Better. It's a favorite theme of mine that has made a huge difference in my life.

A decade or so ago, I had a genuine epiphany as I was baking cookies and realized that I am happiest when I'm making stuff. That wasn't the big insight, however. I also realized that there was no order of importance to it. Making cookies or creating a seminar were equally satisfying.
The obvious lesson in this was that if I wanted the happiest, richest possible life, I needed to set things up so I was spending the majority of my time making things.
With that revelation, a new habit was born. Instead of pouring my morning coffee and pondering, "What do I have to do today?" I began asking myself, "What can I make today?" My answers were simple or silly or serious, but always moved me into action.

Eventually I expanded that to asking myself throughout the day, "How can I make it better?"
Try it for yourself. Just keep asking those questions and follow where they lead. See if you can come up with a different answer everyday. Then get busy making it happen. Engage your head and heart and hands. Amaze yourself.
You may not change The World, but I bet you change Your World. It is, after all the direct path to becoming the artist of your own life.

Working on Your Own Terms
Richard Branson has been talking a lot about intrapreneurs. According to the definition, an intrapreneur is somebody who changes a company from within. They are practically spiraling out of control with innovation and workable ideas to push their company to the forefront of their arena.

These are entrepreneurs at heart who know they can make the biggest changes from within-they thrive in a corporate environment because they're always trying to push the boundaries.

Sound familiar? If so, have I got a great coming event for you.

The Corporate Rebel Series is free interview training series for professionals who want to lead, be free, and find success at work - all at the same time.

And guess what? (This is the awesome part!)

It's free to join. Grab your spot here.

This training series is for you if.....

You feel like the odd one, the square peg, the maverick in your office, the one who asks the "interesting" questions and sees creative and unique possibilities.

You want to put work back on your terms.

You want to bring your gifts and your best self to the office everyday (rather than the burned out and crabby you).

You want to show up as a leader in your work and life regardless of whether you sit in a cube or the corner office.

You want to take charge of your career and your success rather than leaving it to your boss or your next performance review.

You know there are new ways to work and you need some ideas to make your office a place you enjoy going every day.

Freud is known to have said: "Love and work are the cornerstones of our humanness." And when asked what's more important? He said: "And".

That's where The Corporate Rebel Series comes in.

This training series features 25 experts to teach you everything from mindfulness at the office to executive presence to leading from your core values to finding your true passions (and more).

You will be transformed by this event.

Discover tips, insights and strategies that will show you how to:

Master executive presence

Discover the work you were born to do

Invite your best self to lead your career according to your values and on your terms.

Create success for yourself.

Make your workplace a place you want to be every day.

Talk to your boss so you get what you want.

You know that I value you and your time. I only share things that I think will serve your goals. The line up of speakers includes international experts, best selling authors, the founders of international leadership training programs, and executive coaches who know a thing or two about developing leaders. I'm one of those speakers and so is Free-ranger Mariannne Cantwell.

If you've been waiting for permission to let your creativity and true self lead at work, wait no longer. The Corporate Rebel Series is here!

Grab your FREE spot here. You'll be glad you did.

PS. If you're already your own boss (or if your focus is purely on escaping your job rather than trying to improve it in the interim - I hear you!), then do feel free to pass this message on to someone you know who fits the description.
