Another place for learning about new books is the Daily Show, Stephen Colbert and Charlie Rose--some jokes, some fun and some very insightful interviews.

Thanks for sharing, Donna. Haven't heard about IDIOT AMERICA yet, but want to add that I often rush out to find a book after hearing the author on public radio.

"Idiot America" by Charles P. Pierce. The author was interviewed by Kathleen Dunn on Wisconsin Public Radio last week and I ordered the book immediately after hearing that program. Liberals will like this book more than conservatives will. I loved it!
I'm currently reading "Shop Class as Soulcraft" and also loving that. I'm identifying with his discussion of what's useful because at the moment I'm in the middle of building a Tower of Lettuce using the hypertufa about which I conduct "how to" workshops and write "how to" eBooks. Many of us use hypertufa to make lovely decorative planters for our gardens. More and more I'm using it to make useful planters to grow vegetables.
